Executive Director

Marilyn Olson is currently Executive Director of VillagesOKC, Inc -a non profit of and for mature adults who help each other age successfully by learning, planning and serving.   Along with a host of community partners, Marilyn helped create VillagesOKC in 2018.  The organization is becoming a community of individuals, organizations, and professionals dedicated to empowering independence  which promotes aging with vitality and purpose. 

Ms Olson is an Oklahoma farm girl holding a degree in Education from Southern Nazarene University.  After teaching for eight years, the past 35 years she’s been a positive voice for the issues of aging  from within hospitals,  retirement communities, nursing homes and as resource for caregiving families.   Her experience includes working to open ten retirement communities in three states.  Her passion is to enhance the lives of older adults and the disabled as a tool to share her faith in Jesus.

She served as family caregiver and support to Aunt Jessie, Aunt Nina and Uncle Agner until their deaths, then to her 103 1/2  year old mother who was her role model.  Now she is focused on her 101 year old mother in law.  Marilyn has a full life with husband, Jim, three grown daughters and involvement in the lives of ten above-average grandchildren.
