Tamara Pratt is a strategic planner and communications expert with deep roots in Oklahoma City and extensive experience across corporate, higher education, nonprofit, and media sectors. As Director of Strategic Communications and Engagement at Guernsey, an Oklahoma-based design and consulting firm, Tamara leads strategic planning, marketing, and partnership development efforts to build meaningful connections.
At Guernsey, Tamara plays a key role in shaping the company’s reputation and community impact across diverse audiences. By leading innovative public relations and marketing strategies, she enhances Guernsey’s visibility. Her creative approach ensures Guernsey continues to stand out as a trusted leader in design and consulting services across the United States.
Tamara’s career tells a story of leadership, growth, and service. Before joining Guernsey, she served as Vice President of External Affairs at Rose State College, where she spearheaded initiatives to boost the college’s public profile. At the American Red Cross, she managed donor relations and disaster recovery communications, contributing to fundraising and public outreach efforts. As Deputy Director of the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, Tamara played a critical role in strategic planning and grant compliance, advancing the organization’s mission to support first responders nationwide.
Her earlier career as a broadcast journalist with KWTV-TV News 9 spanned 13 years, during which she honed her storytelling, public speaking, and community outreach skills. This diverse background – spanning media, nonprofit stewardship, and higher education – gives her a unique perspective and informs her approach to building connections and driving meaningful engagement.
Tamara‘s proud to say she’s an alumni of the Tinker Air Force Base Honorary Commander Program (2022). She has served on the Oklahoma State Regents Higher Education Communicators Council, where she held the position of Council Chair in 2019. She has supported the Aerospace Commerce Economic Services (ACES) Educational Pathway Committee as a member, Additionally, she was a member of the Rose State College Executive Leadership Team and is an alumni of Leadership Oklahoma City Class XXVI.
She’s absolutely in love with her husband of 20+ years, David (Prater), and their two children, Kathryn (20) and Alexander (15). She looks forward to spending more time outdoors camping and enjoying the grown-up side of Disney World with her family.
